Greece took my pride

More Pictures

I'm glad to be out of London. Apparently they didn't get the memo that if the exchange rate is two to one ( two dollars for one pound) that things are supposed to be half price. I left a memo. Jessica proved her love to me by sleeping in the airport on the last night. I proved my love to her by taking her to a movie. Not just any movie, but a Sunday night movie that was not eligible for student discounts and cost 17 pounds. That is love.
On to Greece and where my pride went. I thought that after two days of flawless navigation in a city of 7 million people that we were savy travelers. We didn't get lost in London once, in fact I even helped an old British lady find her underground stop. Jessica would ask what direction to go, I would confidently point, pat her on the back, and take us to our next destination. All thanks to impervious mapping skills and a keen sense of direction.
Then came Greece. They might have been conquered by the Romans but they forgot to change there alphabet and my sence of direction got left in London. We found our way to Central Athens from the airport via train and walked in circles the rest of the day. Our day was foreshadowed by a man who spotted us out of 75 people leaving the train station and said, "Americans, tourists, do you need a place to stay?" "No I have a place I replayed." I got out my map, turned it 540 degrees trying to make sense of it, used my keen sense of direction, patted my wife on the back and said, "this way Jess."
20 minutes and four right turns later I met up with our Friend again who said, "Americans, tourists, do you need a place to stay?" I ignored him this time. I eventualy found our hotel thanks to blind luck and Jessicas prayers. We checked in, got lost to and from the Acropolis, prayed more-this time out loud to ward away potentual atackers- found our back to our hotel and to the ferries the next day.

I'm out of time at the internet cafe, more to come on our sailing trip....

The pictures from Greece are amazing- and your room on the sailboat looks surprisingly large! So, I am right there with Nikki and am impressed with the dangly's and clean look- we'll be watching for any changes . . . especially around day 142!!

Grandma and Grandpa Shuck here, Sunday 9/30/07. Wow, what a wonderful experience for you both.
By the looks on your faces, you are both having a GREAT time. Don't forget, you only live once and we think it's neat that you are having such exciting experiences. Grandma chuckled at both of your comments, and it is apparent you both missed your calling. May God wrap his loving arms around you and may the vows you took not long ago, become even more meaningful to you. You are blessed, what a way to fulfill your dreams. We love you both!!!
