Hawaii

We spent about 10 days in Oahu, Hawaii. We were visiting Brandon's brother Clinton (who just moved there with the Coast Guard at the beginning of the summer) and his fiance Caprice. Not a bad place to visit family! We had our own personal tour guides to take us around the Island, showing us both the typical tourist places, and the more local hangouts. Oahu is very diverse with gorgeous beaches, "desert" areas, rain forests, people who live in tents on the beach, quiet one lane roads, and yes, even traffic. It is the most populated Island, but sitting in traffic on large freeways still came as a huge shock. We stayed at Clint's condo, and he even offered us his new memory foam bed~ what a sweetheart! He gave us a personal tour of his military base, Barber's Point, which included an up close view of the plane and cockpit. It was the perfect getaway before we get going on this adventure, and we were so thankful to see them before we left.

Highlights: Yummy shrimp, famous shave ice and waiting in a 40 min. line at Motsumotto's (mainly watching the locals who looked tough with tattoos on their heads and face, but actually were very nice!), finding deserted beaches, surfing for the boys, light rain all throughout the day, playing tennis, snorkeling, and just being with family.

Hey, we were just there! Okay, in December, but still that's soooo cool! Looks like you guys had a blast. Can't wait for more.

We're thinking about heading to Scotland in the beginning of August next year....you know, if you happen to be in that area.... :)

Miss you lots!
